On the 21st of January, the tiny tots of the Elementary classes celebrated their annual sports event, Run for Fun, while Grades II – V had their Sports Day on the same day. Both events were conducted on the school ground. The children were full of vigour and enthusiasm, and looked very colourful in their sporting hats and pompoms. Mrs Aarti Thakur, CEO of Sports Champ Magazine, was the Chief Guest for the programme.
The Annual Run for Fun event for the Elementary Grades was conducted on 21st of January. The little ones of Junior K.G. looked very festive during their Pom Pom Drill. The Senior K.G. children took part in the well-coordinated drill with Hoola Hoops and Grade I presented a Parachute Drill. The Junior K.G. races were based on different occupations like a baker, doctor, etc. The Senior K.G. section races revolved around the children’s classics, like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood and The Shoemaker and the Elves. Grade I students had running races planned for them. The day had been planned in such a way that all the children could have a lot of fun in the activities they took part in. At the end of the day, the gaiety and joy reflecting on their faces, were enough to say that the goal was definitely achieved.
The students of Grades II-V presented a Lezim dance and gymnastics and karate displays, besides the various races. Lathi Katti Drill and Malkhamb, a traditional form of Martial Art, was presented by the students of Grade V, under the training of the Maharashtra Cadet Force. The Parents’ Race saw some very active participation in the Tug of War and Obstacle Races, which were hugely enjoyed by the participants. At the end of the day, Arnav Pote of Grade V was declared the Best Sport Person in the Junior Category Boy; and the award for the Best Sport Person in the Girls’ category went to Aahana Rao of Grade IV.
With this event, all the Inter-House Competitions for the year 2022-23 came to an end. On the 23rd of January, the Rolling Trophy of the Year 2022-23, was handed over to the Krishna House Captains and House Mistresses, for their overall performances in the sports competitions throughout the year.
