The collaboration of The Kalyani School with The Shri Ram Schools is through their consultancy wing, Shri Educare Limited. Guided by the philosophy of Padmashri Mrs. Manju Bharat Ram, the institution has created a name for itself that is considered synonymous with quality education.


Shri Educare Limited helps The Kalyani School with the curriculum, best practices and methodologies that are followed at The Shri Ram School. It also provides intensive training sessions for the entire staff, which are both general and subject-specific. What are the criteria for admission in Grade XI?

Admission to Grade XI will be based on the student's performance in the Grade X preliminary exams or the results of the Board Exam if the student is from a different board. Admission to Grade XII is restricted to students already in a CBSE school and pre-registered for the Board Exam.

What are the subject choices offered in Grade XI as per the National Edcuation Policy ?

There are no streams followed in The Kalyani School. It is like Liberal Arts where except English, the students have a wide variety to choose from 19 subjects catering to different career options. For more information, please visit the school admission counsellor during school working hours.

Which streams are you offering in Grades XI and XII?

We offer subjects under all three streams, i.e. Science, Commerce, and Humanities. The subject combinations under these streams are very flexible, but the final decision on the subjects given, will be based on the number of students.

When does the admission process start?

Admissions typically begin in November for all grades. Grade XI admissions typically start in February, after the results of Pre-Board exams are available. We recommend applying early to secure a spot.

Students applying for all Grades must take a readiness test to assess their academic level.

Is there an age requirement for Kindergarten or other grades?

According to the Maharashtra government directives, a child should be _______ years old by 31st December____to be admitted to Nursery.

Does the school offer financial aid or scholarships?

Yes, we offer merit-based and need-based scholarships, especially for sports achievers. To inquire about them, you can contact the admission counsellor.

What is Provisional Admission?

In cases where the new candidates do not submit all the required documents or do not visit the school for an informal interaction, a provisional admission will be given. When all the necessary formalities are completed, the admission will be regularised.

What curriculum does the school follow?

We follow the CBSE Board curriculum, emphasising academic excellence and co-curricular development

What is the maximum class strength?

Each class has a maximum strength of 30 students.

What is the student-teacher ratio at The Kalyani School?

The school maintains a whole-school teacher-student ratio of 1:10, with a maximum of 30 students per class. Additionally, there are two teachers present in classes from Jr. KG to Grade III.

What additional languages are offered?

Students learn Marathi as a State Language in addition to Hindi and English from Grade I onwards. In Grades VI to VIII, students choose between Sanskrit, Marathi and Spanish as their third language. In Grades IX and X, students choose between Hindi, Sanskrit and Marathi as their second language.

How are students assessed and graded?

We use a combination of formative and summative assessments, including exams, projects, and skill-based evaluations. There are no pen-and-paper tests until Grade III. However, in Grades IV and V, students write 40-mark papers, and from Grade VI onwards, they have full-fledged exams, as per the directives of CBSE.

Since there are no exams till Grade IV, how are the students assessed?

Formal exams begin in Grade IV for the students at The Kalyani School. Until Grade III, assessments are ongoing, and anecdotal records are maintained of every child's progress. Children are assessed for Understanding, Application, and Effort. We have holistic report cards that are very informative and comprehensive, and provide specific feedback about each student, along with recommendations from the teachers, where applicable.

How do students adjust to having two written exams in a year in Grade IV, if they are not used to giving exams before that?

Students are encouraged from a young age to become independent learners, which translates into their being able to adjust to the examination system easily. At The Kalyani School, the "How" of learning is focused on, not just the "What." The skills developed in Junior School prepare them to face formal exams with ease and confidence and academic rigour is gradually increased over the years.

Does the school offer after-school activities?

Yes, after-school activities happen every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. During that period, professionally trained faculty train the enrolled students in Football, Basketball, Skating, Karate, and Gymnastics. We also have early morning practice for some of these games, for selected students.

Yes, we have tied up with the Jnana Prabodhini Institute, Pune, for their programme for gifted students. The selected students enrich themselves even more with an array of mentally and physically stimulating activities that the expert facilitators engage them in.

Does the school do anything for students with learning difficulties or those struggling with emotional issues?

For students with learning difficulties, we have a full-fledged Pastoral Care Department, which comprises Counsellors and Remedial Teachers who care for our students who require extra support. Students with emotional and behavioural issues are referred to counsellors, who work in tandem with the students' teachers and parents, to help them overcome their problems. Students who are weak in academics or have Learning Difficulties are referred to the Remedial Teachers, who teach them individually or in small groups, using special remedial techniques. Students with severe problems enrolled in the Special Needs Remedial programme are informally assessed, and Individualised Education Plans are made for them.

Do the students get any career guidance?

We have an in-house Career Guidance Cell with trained Career Counsellors who conduct regular sessions in school for all students from Grade IX upwards. They even guide students with their admissions process. For Grades VI to VIII, we have a Student Advisory Programme that helps students identify the streams and areas they are inclined towards.
