Linguistic Minority
Imagine a school where science experiments aren’t just for the namesake, a group project isn’t just an assignment, and a classroom discussion isn’t just another period on the timetable.
That’s the kind of learning I experience at The Kalyani School. Here, education is not limited to notebooks and exams. We are encouraged to question, think independently, and connect what we learned to the world around us.
Beyond books and classrooms - Where We Really Grow
Sports and Team Spirit
Some of the most important lessons in my life have happened on the sports field. We get opportunities to train and compete, and our coaches go beyond sports periods. They put in extra efforts and call us for morning practice before school. Whether it’s football, basketball, or athletics, every practice teaches us something more than just the game. We learn discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and how to keep going, even when things don’t go our way. For me, sports has been one of the most memorable parts of my school journey.
Stage, Voice, and Confidence
Throughout the year, we take part in inter-school and intra-school debates, quizzes and speaking events. The first few times I stood on a stage, speaking in front of an audience, I was nervous. But with every opportunity, the fear became smaller, and my confidence grew. Today, standing on stage feels much more natural. These experiences have taught me that confidence doesn’t come overnight. It grows every time we challenge ourselves to try something new. Then there’s our class assembly, where each section gets its own chance to create and perform. We create our own show through drama, music, and dance, with our teachers constantly guiding us. It pushes us to think out of the box, work together, and turn our ideas into something real. It’s a day I always look forward to.
A Celebration of Creativity and Togetherness
One of the most awaited events of the year is ‘Mad About’, our annual art celebration in December. It brings together students, parents, and teachers on one platform. We paint, build, perform, and exhibit our ideas together. What makes it truly special is seeing the entire school family come together, reminding us that creativity and learning have no boundaries.
IAYP: Learning Beyond the Classroom
I’m grateful for the IAYP Award by the Duke of Edinburgh, organised by our school. It allows us to choose activities across three areas—sports, community service, and skills—and complete 13 hours in each of them, throughout the year. I chose football for sports, took part in cleanliness drives for community service, and chose chess for skill development. We also take part in practice and adventure journeys, where we trek, camp, learn survival skills, and work together as a team. IAYP has taught me much more than skills. It has taught me independence, responsibility, and setting goals. Most importantly, it has taught me that real growth happens when we challenge ourselves, and learn beyond the classroom.
At The Kalyani CBSE School , seniors and teachers help juniors who need help in studies after school. For juniors, it makes asking doubts and understanding concepts easier, while seniors develop patience, leadership, and communication skills by teaching them. This initiative builds empathy, teamwork, and a culture where we learn from, and grow with each other.
As a student, I want a school where I can voice my opinions, explore my interests, serve others, learn values, and find my confidence to lead. At The Kalyani CBSE School, we are not just preparing for exams; we are preparing for life on the field, on the stage, in the art room, on treks, and in every experience we share.
Because true education is not just about what we learn, but who we become because of it.
“All of us do not have equal talent. But all of us have an equal opportunity to develop our talents.” — Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
These words reflect what The Kalyani CBSE School stands for. The teaching methods here, give every student the opportunity to discover their strengths and explore their interests.
I am grateful to my teachers, Principal Nirmal Ma’am, and the entire school management team for giving us the opportunities and guidance to become the best versions of ourselves.
